Check Network Cards Installed on macOS Catalina
To know the root of these problems, you have to check network cards installed on your macOS Catalina. Once you check them then you may get the main reason why your wifi isn’t working.
Step 1. Click on Apple Logo from your screen and then press on About this Mac.
Step 2. After that, to view the network hardware information press on System Report.
Step 3. Now you will get System Report window and from there click on Wifi from the network menu. After that, all reports about your wifi will appear on your window.
Step 4. Look out for Mac Address Field and you will get your wifi address available.
Delete Wifi PLIST Files
In this step, you are going to repair system files of wifi after you get a Mac address available on your macOS Catalina. On your Mac system configuration, you need to refresh the plist files of wifi. If you are wondering how to find system configuration then follow these steps.
Step 1. Open up the Finder on your Mac and hit the Go button from the top.
Step 2. After that, press on Go to Folder.
Step 3. Now type in the following text in Go to Folder and then click on Go.
Step 4. In addition to that, you are now viewing the System Configuration folder. From the top menu, click on the third option from the right which will show all Plist network files.
Step 5. Now you are going to select and make a copy of these files on your Mac. Once you get your backup then move these files into trash and clean trash.

Remove and Create New Wifi Service
Once your Mac starts then you know that your new plist is created on system configuration. After that, you are going to remove and create new wifi service on your Mac macOS Catalina. Your system preference network settings are where you are going to delete the old default create a new wifi service.
Step 1. Click on Apple Logo and go ahead to System Preferences and remove and add a new service for your wifi.
Step 2. Out of all available options, you are going to select the Network.
Step 3. From the left side of your window select Wi-Fi. Then from the bottom click on the minus sign and it will delete it.
Step 4. Once you are done then press on Plus sign from bottom to set up a new wifi service.
Step 5. Afterward, you should select Wi-Fi for Interface and provide a service name for it. For instance, Wi-Fi 2 and then click on Create.
Step 6. On the left side of your window select the new Wifi service that you created and then click on Advanced.
Step 7. Now from the new window, press on TCP/IP>Renew DHCP Lease and then click on apply. Further, you will see that you have a new updated IPV 4 address, subnet mask, and Router address.
Step 8. Move on to the next click on DNS from the menu to add a new DNS server. To do that, click on Plus option from the bottom and then type in 220.127.116.11 and once again click on Plus sign and this time type in 18.104.22.168 to server.
Step 9. Head to Hardware from the menu and add the following then click on Apply and it will create a new wifi service.
- Configure: Manually
- MTU: Custom
- 1453 (1280 to 1500)
Add New Wifi Profile
In this step, without deleting wifi service you are going to add a new wifi profile. Go back to System Preferences and choose Network.
Step 1. Click on Apple Logo and then choose System Preferences.
Step 2. After that, from the menu select Network.
Step 3. On the left of your screen, you can see the Wifi option, therefore, click on it. Further, select Location and click on Edit Location.
Step 4. Now press on Plus sign and name your wifi and hit on Done.
Step 5. Once the location is edited then you are going to click on Wifi from the left side of your screen. After that, click on Advanced and there you can see all your connected connections. Therefore, select those devices you don’t want and click on the Minus sign.
Step 6. Since it’s done then move ahead to TCP/IP from the menu. Now click on Renew DHCP Lease and you will be given new IPv4 Address, Subnet Mask, and Router.
Step 7. Afterward, move on to DNS and click on Plus sign to add new DNS servers. Firstly click on Plus sign and type in 22.214.171.124, again click on Plus sign and type in 126.96.36.199 for new DNS servers.
Step 8. Move on to Hardware and change the following.
- Configure: Manually
- MTU: Custom
- 1453 (1280 to 1500)
Step 9. Finally, click on Ok then Apply it to save it all. You can now check your internet and I’m sure it will work for you.
Reset NVRAM or PRAM on macOS Catalina 10.15
In this final step, you are going to reset NVRAM or PRAM so that it removes all the old registered wifi, Bluetooth and more information. Therefore in order to do that restart, your Mac and press hold the option key, Command and P and the R key all at once. Then you will hear the startup sound for the second time and it is when you are going to release. Then you should enter your Mac password and it will start your Mac.
